Old Catholic Church of North America

Old Catholic Church. Ordination information,
Old Catholic History, and more.
The Old Catholic Church Of North America is a branch of the Old Catholic
community in the United States of America with an
active presence in
many states.  We encourage
formal and informal relationships with other
branches of the Church. Such as The
Old Catholic Communion of North
America.

Our community is a direct descendant of the European (Utrecht) Old
Catholic community, however, we are not members of the Utrecht Union.
(We strive to gain "
reconciliation" among Old Catholics throughout the
world and in particular with the
Utrecht Union as well as the Anglican
Communion
.  "Old Catholic" is defined as those church communities that
adhere to the guidelines established by the Utrecht Union of Churches
while not necessarily being members of that Union.  The
Apostolic lines of
succession in addition to origination from the Archdiocese of Utrecht also
derive from
Anglican, Orthodox and Roman sources.  These have been
reviewed by Catholic scholars and pronounced a "
valid succession of
orders
" and a "valid transfer of powers".  The Old Catholic Church of
North America is an affirming, and welcoming Church.
From our Presiding Bishop:

Welcome to our website. I hope that you take the time to view our pages and read the information
provided about both the Old Catholic Church of North America as well as the history of the Old
Catholic movement. Of particular concern to us is the offering of
valid sacraments to those who have
left Roman Catholicism, or other Christians seeking forms of worship and beliefs founded in the
traditions and beliefs of the
early church. We are currently seeking mature men and women, married
or single,  who feel a call to ministry. At
St. Michael's Old Catholic Seminary our students prepare
for  Holy Orders as Deacons and Priests. Clergy ministries include pastors of home churches and
chaplains in corporate, home, hospital, hospice, and jail settings. Those already
ordained who are
seeking  incardination, please
contact us with any questions or for more information.

May God Bless,
Most Reverend Ted Smith, DD.
